iHeartMedia has named Dave Hovel as Senior Vice President of Programming for its Salisbury/Ocean City MD cluster.
Hovel joins iHeart from West Virginia Radio Corporation Classic Country “95.9 The Big Dawg” WICL Williamsport/Hagerstown MD where he served as PD/Morning Host. He previously hosted mornings on CBS’ “New Country 106.1” W291CI Baltimore, afternoons at iHeart’s 94.7 WDSD Dover DE, briefly served as OM for Renda Broadcasting’s Fort Myers FL stations and spent 24 years at Delmarva Broadcasting’s Country 103.7 WXCY Havre de Grace MD, where he eventually rose to PD.
At iHeart Salisbury Hovel will oversee programming for CHR “Kiss 95.9” WKZP, Urban AC “Magic 98.9” WSBY, Country “Froggy 99.9” WWFG, AC “Q105” 104.7 WQHQ, Sports “Fox Sports 960” WTGM, and Talk 1470 WJDY. He replaces Jimmy Steele who was transferred to Reading PA last month.
