Neuhoff Media flipped CHR “99.7 Kiss-FM” WXAJ Hillsboro/Springfield IL to Hot AC “99.7 The Mix” this morning.
The current airstaff led by PD/Morning host Bondsy remains in place with the shift to the new “90s, 2K, and Today” positioning. The new format takes WXAJ out of direct competition with Saga Communications CHR 103.7 WDBR and instead places it between WDBR and Midwest Family Broadcasting AC 98.7 WNNS.
The station’s playlist is broad with many gold titles no longer heard in many places including Fatboy Slim “Rockefeller Skank”, 311 “Down”, and Daft Punk “Around The World” among the songs heard this morning.

Interesting mix of tracks indeed. Many of the gold seems to be tracks that were played on Modern AC stations in the 90’s and early 2000’s. Also hearing some less popular mainstream hits, like Justin Timberlake’s Drink You Away.
