Brown joins Cumulus from iHeartMedia St. Louis where she was programming Urban “100.3 The Beat” KMJM and Gospel “Hallelujah 1600” KATZ. Brown also spent 14 years as OM of Radio-One Baltimore and Regional Program Director for Radio-One overseeing the company’s Urban AC stations.
Cumulus Media announces that it has appointed 20-year radio programming professional Kathy Brown as Program Director for WWWZ-FM and WMGL-FM, heritage Urban radio stations in Charleston, SC. Brown joins Cumulus Media-Charleston from iHeart Media-St. Louis, where she was Program Director of Urban station KMJM and Gospel station KATZ-AM. She was previously Assistant Program Director at CBS Radio-Atlanta’s Urban station, WVEE. Prior to that, Brown was Operations Manager for Radio One’s WWIN-AM/FM, WERQ and WOLB in Baltimore, MD, and became Regional Program Director during her 14-year tenure, serving Urban AC stations in markets including Washington, DC, Richmond, VA, and Baltimore, as well as Augusta, GA, Detroit, MI, and Los Angeles, CA.
