Cumulus Media has made a round of cuts at its Chicago and Minneapolis clusters.
Robert Feder reports on six names exiting in Chicago. They include Jeremy ‘Pyke’ Peterson, night host at Rock “97.9 The Loop” WLUP, Rachel Brady sports reporter on News/Talk 890 WLS, and traffic reporters en DeSalvo, Christina Filiaggi, JoAnn Genette and Marti Jones.
James Van Osdol will add voice tracking nights at WLUP to his duties as Programming Content Specialist for WLUP and Alternative “101 WKQX“.
In Minneapolis, Terri Traen and Brian Zepp are out of afternoons at Classic Rock 92.5 KQRS. The former co-hosts of the Tom Barnard morning show started at the station in 1989 and 1997 respectively. Ray Erick moves up from nights to host 4-8pm.
This sadly may only be the beginning.
I bet Cumulus may divest some of their stations to Entercom as part of the CBS Radio deal, where Entercom will need to divest stations to remain under the FCC ownership limits and could possibly swap some stations with Cumulus.
