iHeartMedia flipped Hot AC “Voodoo 104.1” KVDU Houma/New Orleans LA to Classic/Variety Hits “104.1 The Spot” at 5pm today.
KVDU, which covers both the New Orleans and Baton Rouge markets, will fill the Classic Hits opening in the former. KVDU registered a 1.6 share in the Spring 2017 Nielsen Audio ratings. The closest format competitors are Michael Costello’s pair of rimshots: Oldies 94.3 WTIX-FM and 80s Hits “Z104.5” KWMZ.
The Spot is positioning with the Variety Hits standby “We Play Anything”, but musically sounds like the typical Rock leaning Classic Hits station outside of one song per hour.
The first hour of The Spot consisted of:
Tom Petty – I Won’t Back Down
Commodores – Brick House
REM – The One I Love
Chicago – Baby, What A Big Surprise
Chicago – If You Leave Me Now
J Geils Band – Centerfold
Bruno Mars – Just The Way You Are
Don Henley – Boys Of Summer
Aerosmith – Dream On
Billy Joel – We Didn’t Start The Fire
Bananarama – Venus
Rod Stewart – You’re In My Heart
Journey – Any Way You Want It
Marc Cohn – Walking In Memphis
