Portland AM Duo Sold

860 KPAM Sunny 1550 KKOV Portland PamplinPamplin Media Group has announced it will sell Talk 860 KPAM Troutdale OR and Standards “Sunny 1550” KKOV Vancouver WA in the Portland market to Tron Dinh Do’s Intelli LLC. No terms have been announced yet.

Pamplin states it is selling the stations to focus on its publishing operations and expand the digital reach of a group built around the Portland Tribune and 24 community newspapers in the region.

Intelli owns four other stations focusing on brokered foreign language programming across the country with one in Atlanta, one in Dallas, and two in San Jose.

Pamplin Communications Corporation has announced the sale* of KPAM (AM) and KKOV (AM), serving Portland, Oregon, to Intelli, LLC. Pamplin Media Group made the decision to sell its radio stations in order to fully concentrate on its stable of community newspapers, digital media and video.

Pamplin Media Group owns the Portland Tribune as well as 24 community newspapers that serve the Portland metro area and central Oregon. They have the largest print readership of any newspaper group in Oregon, and will now focus on extending their digital reach.

Intelli, LLC, based in San Jose, California, also owns stations in the Dallas-Ft. Worth, Atlanta and San Jose markets.

Tom McKinley of the New York Metro office of Media Services Group was the exclusive broker in this transaction.

  1. Does this mean that KPAM-860 and KKOV-1550 might drop their current formats and go to brokered programming, like the rest of the stations owned by KPAM/KKOV’s incoming owners??
