The budgetary axe has swung at Cumulus Classic Hits 94.9 KCMO-FM and Talk 710 KCMO/103.7 K279BI Kansas City.
As KCMO-FM made its annual move to Christmas music yesterday it parted ways with morning host Dick Wilson. Wilson had been in mornings at KCMO-FM since 1986 and also spent eight years co-hosting mornings at Rock “KY 102” KYYS from 1975-83. Wilson also briefly hosted the short-lived Camp Midnite for USA Network and Dick Clark Productions in 1989.
Over at 710 KCMO, morning hosts Greg Knapp and Tom Becka have exited. Knapp had rejoined KCMO in January to host 5-9am. He had previously hosted afternoons at the station from 2011-2016. Also exiting is 9-11am host Tom Becka, who had joined KCMO in May 2016 during a lineup change that led to Knapp’s first departure. Becka is continuing to do television commentaries for KPTM Omaha, the market he worked in prior to coming to Kansas City.
