Ty Bailey is returning to iHeartMedia as Assistant Program Director at Country 98.7 WMZQ Washington DC.
Bailey most recent served as Program Director/Morning Host at “98 Rock” WXTB Tampa from 2012 until her exit in July. She previously served as midday host at Alternative “DC 101” WWDC Washington and APD of Alternative “Channel 104.3” WCHH Baltimore. During her previous tenure at iHeartMedia, Bailey was a prolific voice trackers for the company’s Alternative, Classic Rock, and Rock stations.
iHeartMedia announced today that Ty Bailey has been named Assistant Program Director for 98.7 WMZQ in Washington, D.C., effective November 27, 2017. iHeartMedia Washington, D.C. has a strong cross-platform presence and includes a number of iconic brands and franchises — both broadcast and digital — including HOT 99.5, 97.1 WASH-FM, DC101, 98.7 WMZQ, BIG 100 and 104.7 – and produces legendary marquee events including the iHeartRadio HOT 99.5 Jingle Ball, WMZQ Fest and DC101’s Kerfuffle.

As Assistant Program Director, Bailey will assist in overseeing the station’s on-air and music programming. She will report to Jeff Kapugi, Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia’s Washington, D.C. Region.

Ty Bailey returns to the Washington, D.C. Region from WXTB in Tampa, FL, where she most recently served as the Program Director and Morning Show Host. She previously served in the Washington D.C. Region as the Midday host for WWDC and prior to that, Assistant Program Director for WCHH in Baltimore, MD. She began her career at WZNE in Rochester, NY and is a graduate of Ithaca College.
