iHeartMedia’s 1230 WYTS/105.3 W287CP Columbus OH is now on its third format and fourth identity of the 2017 calendar year.
After Urban One dropped Classic Hip-Hop “Boom 106.3” from WBMO London OH last week, iHeartMedia has quickly filled the opening by flipping Urban AC “Kiss 105.3” 1230 WYTS/105.3 W287CP to the format as “Throwback 105.3“.
WYTS registered a 0.2 share in the November Nielsen Audio ratings as it attempted to go up against Urban One’s “Magic 95.5” WXMG. The station began 2017 as Sports “Fox Sports Columbus” before flipping to Urban AC in February. At the end of March the station rebranded from “Vibe 105.3” to “Kiss 105.3” as River Radio Ministries Christian CHR “Vibe Radio HD” 104.9 WCVO-HD2 Gahanna had established prior use of the name.

It’s not just this year… AM 1230 has had a maze of formats and call letters dating back to the latter days of Nationwide ownership. Their stint as “Fox Sports 1230” was probably the longest running format they had in that timeframe.
