Station Sales Week Of 1/19: A Pair Of Boston AMs Sold

After agreeing in December to purchase Silent 1510 WMEX Boston from Daly XXL Communications for $125,000, the contract by Ed Perry’s Marshfield Broadcasting Company has been filed with the FCC. Not included in the deal are the current call letters as the license to use them from 105.9 WMEX-LP Rochester NH was non-transferrable. Also the contract states that the current tower site owner Duffy Associates, LLC has filed a lawsuit against Daly XXL Communications, Ed Perry, and former WMEX owner Blackstrap Broadcasting.

International Church of the Grace of God will pay $685,000 to Salem Media for 1260 WBIX Boston. The group began operating the station via LMA on January 8 upon which it dropped the station’s Conservative Talk lineup for Portuguese language programming targeted at Brazilian ex-pats.

Isaac Calle is buying out the 70% stake of Vision Communications Network and its Spanish Christian “Genesis 680” WGES St. Petersburg FL he does not own by paying $143,658.50 for Evelyn Chaparro’s 40% and $107,743.88 for Edwin Ortiz’s 30% of the company.

Bold Gold Media is purchasing “Classic Rock 103.5” WMMZ Berwick PA from Joe Reilly’s Columbia FM for $700,000. Reilly will retain Talk/AC 930 WHLM Bloomsburg/1280 WBWX Berwick and their associated translators.

After the sale of five Connecticut stations to Red Wolf Broadcasting this week, Connoisseur Media sells the remaining piece of its “Talk of Connecticut” network. David Webster’s Trignition Media, owners of “Viva” 840 WRYM/107.3 W297BT New Britain will pay $260,000 for 1240 WWCO Waterbury and its Construction Permit for 106.3 W292FI.

John Burdette sells Oldies 1240 WJLX Jasper AL to James Earley for $115,000.

Hawaii Public Radio converts its Programming and Managing Agreement of 89.9 KIPL Lihue HI from Crossroads Christian Fellowship into a $1 purchase.

Urban One purchases 92.7 W224DI Indianapolis from Charles Anderson for $200,000. W224DI was moved to Indianapolis in the 2016 250 mile waiver period to rebroadcast Urban One Gospel “1310 The Light” WTLC Indianapolis.

Smile FM purchases Silent 100.3 W262AF Parchment/Kalamazoo MI from FCR Broadcasting for $30,000. Smile will use W262AF to rebroadcast their Christian AC “Smile-FM” network off of 88.7 WSIS Riverside.
