Entercom Soft AC “94.1 The Sound” KSWD Seattle is adding Premiere Networks’ Delilah for middays.
Delilah, who does her show from studios in suburban Seattle and got her first major market gig at 92.5 KLSY in the early 1980s, will voicetrack a custom show for KSWD. Tom Taylor Now reports that KSWD will also carry her syndicated show on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights.
Entercom, the #1 creator of live, original, local audio content in the United States, announced today the addition of renowned on-air personality Delilah to soft rock radio station 94.1 The Sound (KSWD-FM) in Seattle. Delilah will be the new midday host of “Delilah on 94.1 The Sound”, which will debut on Monday, January 29 and air weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. PT. As part of the partnership, The Sound will also carry Delilah’s nationally-syndicated nighttime radio program Friday through Sunday from 7:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m.
“Since Delilah is a Seattle local, we had the extraordinary opportunity to welcome her as the new host of middays and evenings on 94.1 The Sound,” said Jack Hutchison, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Entercom Seattle. “We are truly lucky to have such a well-recognized personality like Delilah join our team. Along with John Fisher in mornings, we are building something very special for Puget Sound listeners on 94.1 The Sound.”
“The relationship I have with Seattle-area listeners has gone on for some 30 years,” said Delilah. “This is a special opportunity – the birth of a great radio station at 94.1 The Sound, and the chance to connect with those listeners both at night and during the day. How fun is that going to be? I’m so looking forward to spending time with my Seattle family.”
Delilah’s top-rated show features her distinctive blend of story-telling, sympathetic listening, and encouragement – all scored with adult contemporary music.
Delilah, a Puget Sound local, National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Broadcasting Hall of Fame inductee and National Radio Hall of Fame inductee, has hosted her popular nighttime radio program for over 30 years. Her show attracts millions of listeners nationwide. She has received countless awards and accolades such as Radio Ink’s “Most Influential Women in Radio,” and the prestigious NAB Marconi Award for “Network/Syndicated Personality of the Year.” Delilah also received the honor of “Outstanding Host – Entertainment/Information” at the Alliance of Women in Media’s 37th Annual Gracie Awards Gala.
94.1 The Sound launched on December 2017 to provide Seattle’s music fans with a unique mix of soft rock hits from the 1980’s, 1990’s and 2000’s. 94.1 The Sound is a part of Entercom, a leading American media and entertainment company and one of the top two radio broadcasters in the country. Entercom is the nation’s unrivaled leader in news and sports radio. With a nationwide footprint of 235 stations, Entercom engages over 100 million people weekly with a premier collection of highly-rated, award-winning radio stations, digital platforms and live events.
While a couple of Delilah’s stations run her show overnights, most of her affiliates air the show between 7 P.M. and 12 Midnight local time.
But as this will be “custom” for KSWD-94.1 Seattle, perhaps her format will be a little different and be geared more towards working soccer moms who listen in the office.
