Centennial Broadcasting has broken up the simulcast of Classic Country “B105” 104.9 WZFC Stasburg and 105.5 WXBN Berryville VA as WZFC has flipped to a simulcast of News/Talk 1400 WINC Winchester.
The move allows WINC to reach into southern portions of the Winchester market including Front Royal and Woodstock VA.
Centennial Broadcasting II L.L.C. today announced programming changes coming to two of their stations serving the Winchester, Virginia market. The company has been airing a Country Legends format, known as True Apple Country B105, as a two signal simulcast on WZFC (104.9) and WXBN (105.5) and this simulcast will end on January 31st.
On that date, the Country Legends format will continue on WXBN and WZFC will begin simulcasting the programming of sister station NewsTalk 1400 WINC, known locally as NewsTalk 1400. NewsTalk 1400 WINC is the Winchester and Shenandoah Valley home for talk shows from conservative hosts including Laura Ingraham, Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity.
“Centennial Winchester is excited about the prospects of extending the reach of our highly regarded NewsTalk 1400 station programming further south in the Shenandoah Valley utilizing the powerful WZFC signal,” commented Market Manager Larry Weiss, adding “this move will allow us to extend the news talk brand, including our roster of well-established national hosts, south of Winchester into the Warren and Shenandoah County areas.”
Mike Herald, Operations Manager and Robert Allen, News Director will continue in their current positions after the new simulcast debuts. Locally, Centennial Broadcasting also operates regional Adult Contemporary giant 92.5 WINC FM, which serves both the Winchester and Leesburg (Loudoun County) markets.
