Three and a half years after flipping to Active Rock, Alaska Integrated Media has reverted “Pure Rock 94.7” KZND Houston/Anchorage AK back to Alternative.
Now branded as “Alaska’s Rock Alternative”, the move brings the station back to the format it had first on 87.7 from 1999-2006 and then on 94.7 until 2014 as “The End“. The move takes the station out of direct format competition with Alpha Media’s 106.5 KWHL.
