Townsquare Media Rock 97.9 WGRD Grand Rapids MI has appointed Tommy Carroll as Program Director.
Carroll joins WGRD from Federated Media Rock “103.9 The Bear” WRBR South Bend IN. He joined WRBR in 2000 as afternoon host and rose to Program Director in 2008 and then became Digital Content Director for Federated’s South Bend cluster in 2013. He will also host afternoons for WGRD.
Dick Broadcasting has added Global Media Services’ to mornings at Alternative 96.1 WKZQ-FM Forestbrook/Myrtle Beach SC. The show originates at Dick’s “Rock 92” WKRR Greensboro NC and airs on five other stations including Dick’s Rock stations in New Bern NC and Savannah GA.
After departing afternoons at Alpha Media CHR “107.1 The Monkey” WXYK Gulfport/Biloxi MS, James Steele is returning to Orlando as Imaging Director and afternoon host at Entercom Alternative “FM 101.9” WQMP Daytona Beach/Orlando FL. Steele previously served as Production Manager and Imaging Director/night host at WQMP when it was CHR “101.9 Amp Radio” in 2014/15. Steele has also worked in Melbourne and West Palm Beach FL and Norfolk VA where he rose to PD of Alternative “96X” WROX.
Sarah Ashworth is rejoining Vermont Public Radio as Director of News. She previously worked for the company as a producer from 2007-2010 and is currently an editor at Minnesota Public Radio. Ashworth has also worked as a producer of the Diane Rehm Show and news director at New Hampshire Public Radio.
The National Radio Hall of Fame is seeking nominees its 2018 inductions.
The 30th Annual National Radio Hall of Fame Induction ceremony and celebration will take place in New York City mid-November. Today through March 30, the NRHOF Nominating Committee is accepting suggestions for 2018 nominees. Please visit www.radiohof.org and click on the NOMINATE tab to submit picks for consideration.
National Radio Hall of Fame Chairman Kraig T. Kitchin comments, “We’re looking forward to celebrating this milestone anniversary in New York City.
