Neuhoff Media launched Sports “101.7 The Hammer” in Lafayette IN as the former “ESPN 1450” WASK Lafayette launched translator 101.7 W269DJ.
The new brand launched with the start of the NCAA Mens’ Basketball Tournament yesterday. The station will continue to carry ESPN Radio programming and Chicago Cubs baseball.
The Lafayette Journal & Courier reports that WASK will add a local afternoon show hosted by former WLFI-TV sports anchor Clayton Duffy and Jared Jesulaitis who is PD of WASK and sister CHR “B102.9” WXXB. Jesulaitis recently moved from mornings to middays on WXXB where he uses the on-air name ‘Logan’.
On March 15th 2018 at 11am, Neuhoff Media Lafayette adds a new FM station to the airwaves at 101.7. 101.7 FM – which is a new radio frequency to Greater Lafayette will be known from this point forward as 101.7 The Hammer – it will program all sports.
101.7 The Hammer is the market affiliate of ESPN Radio, Chicago Cubs baseball games, and it will launch with Westwood One’s radio coverage of the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament, Today at 11am.
Beginning, Monday March 19th – Neuhoff Media Lafayette will enter the world of local sports with a daily afternoon talk show. “The Hammer Down Show” stars Jared Jesulaitis and Clayton Duffy. Jared is the current host of Neuhoff Media’s Boiler Football Show and Boiler Basketball Show, and High School play-by-play announcer. Clayton Duffy is a long-time broadcaster in Greater Lafayette, covering all sports for various media over the years. This show will feature local content from the Greater Lafayette Area with further discussion points featuring Indianapolis and Chicago based sports.
