Pacific Media Group relaunched Hawaiian “Native 92.5” KLHI-FM/101.7 K269FL Kahului HI as “Hi 92” on Friday, April 20.
PD/Morning host KawikaVeeka told MauiNow.com, “The name is ultimately a play off of ‘HI’ in the KLHI call letters, but can also be attributed to the high quality of music being put out by artists in the Island Music genre.”
The site also states that the relaunch comes with an increased emphasis on newer Hawaiian artists such as Eli Mac, Landon McNamara, and Redmelo as well as Reggae artists from New Zealand such as Katchafire, Sammy J and Sons of Zion.
That’s cool! Does anyone know if it streams on the internet?
Not many stations in the US play reggae music except those in Hawaii and those in the Caribean islands. This will be interesting!
Sorry I must have mistaken “Native” for another station.
