As far north and east as you can go while still being in the United States is Aroostook County, Maine where Northern Maine Media is preparing to flip AC 100.1 WHOU-FM Houlton to Classic Hits.
The flip will take place on Thursday, May 24 as the station will focus on hits of the 1970’s and 80’s. The current airstaff will remain in-place and the station will add Mike Harvey’s syndicated show for evenings that the station does not carry Boston Red Sox baseball.
The move will position WHOU closer to Townsquare Media’s Classic Rock “101.9 The Rock” WOZI Presque Isle, while leaving Townsquare’s “Q96.1” WQHR Presque Isle and Bell Media’s “CJ104.1” CJCJ-FM Woodstock NB to fill the AC/Hot AC postion in the region.
