Dick Broadcasting has flipped Classic Hip-Hop “G105.5” 1450 WWHK /105.5 W288DK Myrtle Beach SC to Classic Country “105.5 Hank-FM“.
The station enters a crowded Country battlefield in the market that already includes three current based stations: iHeartMedia’s top ranked “Gator 107.9” WGTR-FM, Cumulus’ “Nash-FM 106.5” WLFF, and Colonial Media + Entertainment’s “Carolina Country 93.9” WMIR. The launch took place at 3pm today following a brief stunt loop of Boyz II Men’s “End of the Road”.
W288DK had been off the air from last Fall until April due to a wind damaged tower. The company is trying to redirect the former formats listeners to sister CHR “Energy 92.1” WMYB by featuring blocks of throwbacks over the holiday weekend.
