The FCC has granted Matinee Media’s License to Cover for 107.3 KAZV Aguila AZ and dismissed a multi-frequency change proposal made by Entravision.
KAZV filed for its license on December 26, 2017 on the last day possible after multiple tolling requests due to years of local zoning issues and being granted a CP to build a temporary 150 foot tower. The next day Entravision filed applications to move “La Suavecita 107.1” KVVA-FM Apache Junction AZ to move to the South Mountain tower farm just south of downtown Phoenix contingent on simulcaster 106.9 KDVA Buckeye applies to move to 106.7 with no changes to its facilities, a show cause order to move Prescott Valley Broadcasting Company AC 106.7 KPPV Prescott AZ to 106.9 and changing KAZV’s allocation reference points based on the assumption that KAZV failed to meet its deadline to construct permanent facilities. After multiple back and forth objections from both parties, the FCC has ruled that KAZV’s facilities are considered permanent to be granted a license and dismissed Entravision’s applications.
