Cities 97 Minneapolis Returns To AAA Roots

Cities 97.1 KTCZ MinneapolisiHeartMedia Hot AC “Cities 97” 97.1 KTCZ Minneapolis is returning to its AAA roots.

Now positioning as “Uniquely Twin Cities”, KTCZ’s playlist will be a hybrid of AAA and Hot AC with core artists listed as Imagine Dragons, Maroon 5, Adele, Weezer, Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, and John Mayer.

Former KTCZ Program Director Lauren Macleash introduced the relaunch of the station at 12pm today. A few on-air lineup changes accompanied the relaunch. Keri Noble, who had been co-hosting mornings with Greg Thunder, will now be solo in mornings. Rich Davis, PD of KTCZ and sister CHR 101.3 KDWB, will replace Madison in middays. Paul Fletcher and Mollie Kendrick remain in afternoons and nights respectively.

iHeartMedia Minneapolis announced today the debut of the new Cities 97.1, Uniquely Twin Cities, effective immediately.

Cities 97.1 will broadcast an eclectic mix of Adult Alternative and Hot Adult Contemporary music including songs from artists which the station was instrumental in breaking over the years like Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, and John Mayer. The station will also include music from a variety of top artists such as Imagine Dragons, Maroon 5, Adele and Weezer. Additional programming will include Minneapolis singer-songwriter Keri Noble weekday mornings from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and Minneapolis local favorite Paul Fletcher on weekday afternoons from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.
