iHeartMedia Sports “Sports Radio 930” WFXJ Jacksonville FL has rebranded as “930 The Game“.
The move comes as WFXJ adds “Open Mike with Mike Bianchi” for mornings from 6-9am. That show originates at iHeart’s “96.9 The Game” 740 WYGM Orlando. Bianchi, who also serves as a sports columnist at the Orlando Sentinel, previously wrote for Jacksonville’s Florida Times-Union. Fox Sports Radio’s Dan Patrick and Colin Cowherd remain in place as does local host Seth Harp in afternoons. WFXJ carries a mix of Fox Sports Radio and NBC Sports Radio programming in nights and weekends.
iHeartMedia Jacksonville announced today the debut of the new 930 The Game, Jacksonville’s Sports Leader, effective immediately.
930 The Game will serve as the home for Florida Gator football, basketball and baseball. The station will also broadcast NFL games, NFL post-season games, Superbowl LIII, the SEC basketball tournament, NCAA tournament and the College World Series. Additionally, current Orlando Sentinel columnist and former Florida Times-Union sports columnist Mike Bianchi will host Open Mike with Mike Bianchi, broadcasting weekday mornings from 6 to 9 a.m.
“I loved my years as a sports columnist at the Florida Times-Union and can’t wait to start talking sports again with Jacksonville Fans,” said Bianchi. “I’m announcing right now that I’m driving the Jagwagon all the way to Atlanta for Superbowl LIII.”
“Mike is a fantastic addition to our daily line-up,” said Seth Harp, Program Director for 930 The Game. “His show focuses on the topics and stories the people of northeast Florida want to hear. The people of Jacksonville deserve a great morning drive show and Mike will deliver that tenfold.”
“We are excited to have Mike Bianchi expand his role to include iHeartMedia Jacksonville,” said Nicky Sparrow, Market Manager for iHeartMedia Jacksonville. “He is a huge asset and he has a great history with sports fans in the city.”
