Jerry and Sheryl Coyne’s Blarney Stone Broadcasting has taken over operations of Roy Henderson’s three stations in Traverse City MI and debuted new formats on two of them, while relaunching the third.
92.3 WBNZ Frankfort has flipped from a simulcast of AC 101.9 WLDR-FM Traverse City to Sports simulcasting 101.1 WGRY-FM Roscommon as “Up North Sports Radio“. WGRY-FM had been running the CBS Sports Radio network as “Y101“.
Rock “Q100” 100.3 WQON Grayling is now simulcasting on 99.3 WOUF Beulah, which had also been simulcasting 101.9 WLDR-FM. New WQAN call letters are now in place on 99.3.
AC “101.9 The Bay” WLDR-FM Traverse City has relaunched just as 101.9 WLDR-FM. The on-air lineup on WLDR-FM will also feature The Morning Scramble with Lorri & Mike, JJ in middays, and Maria Miller in afternoons.
The addition of Henderson’s stations replaces the proposed deal that Blarney Stone had in 2016 attempting to purchase six stations from Northern Broadcast. That deal never closed.
