Vox AM/FM LLC is expanding its holdings in Burlington VT with the purchase of Sison Broadcasting’s CHR “95 Triple X” 95.5 WXXX South Burlington and News/Talk 620 WVMT Burlington for an undisclosed amount.
Vox AM/FM will begin operating the two stations ahead of closing via LMA on January 1, 2019. The two stations will join a Vox AM/FM cluster that includes AC “Star 92.9” WEZF, Rhythmic CHR “Hot 96.7” WXZO, Sports “101.3 The Game” WCPV, and Sports “960 The Zone” WEAV.
Vox AM/FM, LLC, owner of WEZF-FM (Star 92.9); WCPV-FM (101.3 The Game); WXZO-FM (Hot 97 FM); WEAV-AM (960 The Zone); and WVTK- FM, has agreed to acquire WXXX-FM (95 TripleX) and WVMT-AM from Sison Broadcasting, Inc.
By the terms of the transaction, Vox will operate WXXX and WVMT under a Local Marketing Agreement (LMA) commencing on January 1, 2019. Closing will occur in the future, during the term of the LMA. Vox is permitted to own and operate WXXX and WVMT under current FCC regulations.
