Yesterday longtime Chicago media reporter Robert Feder reported that Cumulus Talk 890 WLS Chicago was planning lineup changes in early 2019.

We now know that the first of those changes will be to the station’s afternoon lineup as afternoon host Steve Dahl will host his final show on the station on December 21 but will continue his daily podcast with co-hosts Dag Juhlin and Brendan Greeley. Dahl joined WLS in November 2014 after a six year hiatus from daily radio. Part of the deal with the Chicago radio legend was to make Cumulus a partner in his Dahl.com podcast network, that will continue despite his absence from the company’s stations.

As part of a longer statement Dahl told Feder, “I love radio and will miss being on the air every day. The last four years have flown by, and I think Dag, Brendan and I have been doing good solid work, both on the radio and on our podcast. I would have liked to finish with some better radio ratings, but that didn’t happen.”
