Midwest Communications dropped the Alternative format on “Z96.5” WZOX Portage/Kalamazoo MI this morning and flipped the station to Variety Hits “96.5 Jack-FM“.
The move to the broad gold format was timed with sister AC “FM 106.5” WVFM moving to its season Christmas music mix yesterday. The new format on WZOX positions the station up against Townsquare Media Classic Hits “K102.5” W273AR/WKFR-HD2. Both stations tied with a 2.3 share in the Spring 2018 Nielsen Audio ratings.
