Crawford Broadcasting is moving around programming at its Birmingham AL cluster.
Christian Preaching 850 WXJC/96.9 W245CS Birmingham will begin simulcasting on what is now Conservative Talk “Superstation 101” 101.1 WYDE-FM Cullman. The move will give WXJC a full-powered FM signal that covers both the Birmingham and Huntsville markets.
The move will orphan both 1260 WYDE/95.3 W237EK Birmingham and rimshot 92.5 WXJC-FM Cullman. While WYDE-FM and WXJC-FM will swap call letters no word on what the stations will carry.
The local hosts on WYDE-FM have been doing farewell shows today as has “Dixie Gospel Caravan” host Mickey Bell on WXJC. The Southern Gospel show has been a fixture in the Birmingham market since 1968.
