Sinclair AC “Star 101.5” KPLZ Seattle is swapping morning and afternoon shows to kick off 2019.
Kent Phillips will slide to afternoons with Curt Kruse and Corine McKenzie moving up to the morning show as Alan Budwill retires from a full time position. Phillips and Budwill have hosted mornings at the station since since 1986 with Phillips also serving as Program Director.
Kruse and McKenzie will be accompanied by current morning show producer Leonard Barokas as “The Curt, Corine, and Leonard Morning Show”. Phillips will be joined in afternoons by current morning show members Jen Pirak and Marina Rockinger with Budwill checking in “from time to time”.
For over three decades Kent Phillips & Alan Budwill have been waking up Seattle on KPLZ/STAR 101.5. Now, they are sleeping in!
On Wednesday, January 2nd, 2019 long-time, highly rated STAR 101.5/KPLZ afternoon team Curt and Corine will join Morning Show Senior Executive Producer, Leonard Barokas as the new morning team on STAR 101.5. Phillips will move to afternoons along with current morning show members Jen Pirak and Marina Rockinger. He will also continue to serve as KPLZ’s Program Director. Budwill will check in from time to time while enjoying retirement in the San Juans.

The Curt, Corine and Leonard Morning Show will air live weekdays from 6 – 10 a.m. and will feature Battle of the Sexes at 7:20am, Curt and Corine Confessions at 6:20a and 8:20a and 90 minutes of non-stop music to kick off your workday at 9 a.m.! The new morning team will debut a COATS FOR KIDS campaign, providing coats for needy kids this winter.
