WABC To Add Brian Kilmeade & Ben Shapiro Shows; Michael Savage Out Altogether?

Fox News Radio’s Brian Kilmeade Show will enter the 10am to 12pm timeslot that had most recently been held by Westwood One’s Chris Plante, while Westwood One’s national daily rollout of Ben Shapiro’s daily two hour live radio show will go into the 3-5pm slot that had been held by Michael Savage. The radio version of Shapiro’s daily podcast will continue in the 5pm hour.

WABC will continue to air Bernard McGuirk and Sid Rosenberg in mornings from 6-10am, Curtis Sliwa and Rita Cosby from 12-3pm, the syndicated Mark Levin and John Batchelor in evenings. When the swap of Savage and Shapiro in afternoons was announced, Savage was to host from 3-4pm weekdays and Shapiro from 4-6pm nationally. Now Savage claime to the Washington Times he’s being “censored” by Cumulus and being dropped from WABC, KABC Los Angeles, WLS Chicago, and WMAL Washington completely as of January 7.

CUMULUS MEDIA and FOX News Radio (FNR) announced today that nationally syndicated talk radio program The Brian Kilmeade Show will join the weekday programming lineup on 77 WABC Radio, beginning Wednesday, January 2, 2019. The Brian Kilmeade Show will air live weekdays on 77 WABC from 10:00am-12:00 Noon EST.

The Brian Kilmeade Show will bring two LIVE hours of highly engaging talk radio to 77 WABC listeners in an interactive format that informs, challenges and entertains. Hosted by Brian Kilmeade, co-host of FOX News Channel’s FOX & Friends, the number one morning show on cable, and a New York Times bestselling author, The Brian Kilmeade Show tackles the top stories and news of the day, spanning politics, finance, sports, and entertainment. The show features top newsmakers and high profile guests offering insight and perspective, including personalities from both FOX News Channel and FOX Business Network.

    Michael Savage hasn’t had a timeslot on WLS in over a year, so that part of the article is misleading.

      Nor WMAL. They put a local host in his 2-hour slot years ago.

        Ditto with WJR (they booted him from a live clearance to late night in favor of Guy Gordon) and KLIF (who dropped him altogether). He’s been hemorrhaging affiliates over the past two years.

    Savage is only going to have an hour-long syndicated show. That just doesn’t work in talk radio (even Dr. Dean Edell, whose show was the only one of its kind, was often bunched up for tape-delay on the weekend).

    And judging by the similarities with this tantrum and his past feud/lawsuit with Talk Radio Network, Savage blames everyone but himself.
