Miller Media Group has flipped Soft AC “Easy Hits 96.5” W243DN Taylorville/WMKR-HD2 Pana IL to Oldies “Cruisin 96.5“.
The new format will focus on pop hits of the 1960s and early 70s wit core artists listed as including “the Beach Boys, Elvis Presley, Motown artists, the Beatles and other British Invasion groups, and into the early disco era of the early 70’s”. The change will lead into another change in early 2019 at similarly formatted “Groovy 97.3” WRAN Taylorville to eliminate any overlap between the stations.
The station has announced it will carry the following syndicated programs on weekends: “This is the 60s” on Saturdays from 10am-12pm, MG Kelly’s “Back to the 70s” on Saturday nights from 6-10pm, “Simply Timeless” with Jay Daniels on Sundays from 6-9am and “Live from the 60s” with Real Don Steele from 9am-12pm.
