First Media Services has flipped CHR “92.7 Kiss-FM” WKQR Mullens WV to Variety Hits “92.7 The Mix“.
Owner Bob Spencer told The Independent Herald that the change came to eliminate the overlap between WKQR and recently acquired CHR “J104.5” WHAJ-FM Bluefield. “We simply did it so we didn’t have two stations in the same area playing the same format.”
WKQR will continue to carry University of West Virginia and local high school sports.
