John E. Kage Crosses The Street To Join 95.7 The Party Denver

Lance Ventaby Lance Venta
January 28, 2019

iHeartMedia has announced the appointment of John E. Kage as Program Director of CHR “95.7 The Party” KPTT Denver.

Kage joins KPTT from the same position at Bonneville Country 98.5 KYGO where he has served as PD since September 2016. He has also programmed Cox Media CHR “Hot 101.5” WPOI Tampa but is best known for his long run as APD/MD and later Program Director of Rhythmic CHR “KS 107.5” KQKS-FM Denver. His career began as an intern at KDWB Minneapolis and he’s also worked at KKXL Grand Forks, WKHI Ocean City, KCLS St. Cloud, KKSS Albuquerque, and KSFM Sacramento during his career.

At KYGO, music director Patrick Knight will serve as Interim Program Director.

iHeartMedia Denver announced today that John E. Kage has been named Program Director for 95.7 The Party, Denver’s #1 Hit Music Station, effective immediately. iHeartMedia Denver has a strong cross-platform presence and includes a number of iconic brands and franchises — both broadcast and digital — encompassing nine stations comprised of music, talk and news formats.

iHeartMedia has the leading consumer reach and influence across multiple platforms and delivers more live programming than any other media company. As Program Director, Kage will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the station’s music programming, imaging and branding. He will report to JoJo Turnbough, Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia Denver.

“I’ve known John for a number of years and we’re fortunate to have a programmer of his caliber leading 95.7 The Party,” said JoJo Turnbeaugh, Senior Vice President of Programming for iHeartMedia Denver.

Kage joins 95.7 The Party from 98.5 KYGO, where he most recently served as the Program Director. He also served as the Program Director of Denver’s KQKS and Comedy 103.1 as well as Director of Programming for WPOI. He began his career at 101.3 KDWB.

“We’re excited to welcome John to the iHeartMedia Denver family,” said Tim Hager, Region President of iHeartMedia Denver. “There’s no question that John’s programming acumen and history in our market will help propel 95.7 The Party to new heights.”

“I am excited to remain in my adopted home of Denver, Colorado where I have 20 years of deep roots and relationships,” said Kage. “iHeartMedia’s unparalleled platforms provide a tremendous opportunity for present and future growth in a rapidly changing environment. I look forward to working with my team to help contribute to 95.7 The Party’s ongoing success.”
