With the closing of the sale of Alpha Media’s Biloxi cluster to Telesouth Communications, CHR “107.1 The Monkey” WXYK Gulfport/Biloxi MS has moved its programming to 105.9 WQBB Pascagoula replacing Variety Hits “Bob 105.9“.
The WXYK call letters will relocate to 105.9, with 107.1 to take on new WLGF call letters under the ownership of Donald Stewart Davenport’s Port Broadcasting. No word on what programming will come to 107.1 once it drops its redirect loop of imaging pushing WXYK listeners to the new frequency.
The move bumps WXYK up from the Class A 107.1 signal to the stronger Class C3 signal on 105.9 as it competes against Dowdy Broadcasting’s “95.3 Gorilla” WZNF Lumberton.
