The Aloha Stations Trust was created in 2008 after the privatization of then-Clear Channel Communications eliminated grandfathered ownership of stations and requiring divestitures of stations.
Eleven years later thirteen stations remain in the trust, but four of them are now on their way to a new home as iHeartMedia will swap Classic Rock “Eagle 102.3” WEKL Augusta GA, Variety Hits “Steve-FM” 106.1 WSFF Vinton/Roanoke and simulcaster 101.7 WSNZ Lynchburg VA, and Classic Country “107.1 The Bear” WLRX Ironton OH/Huntington WV to Educational Media Foundation for six translators.

The Aloha Station Trust will still hold nine licenses in Albuquerque, Bismarck, Dayton, Frederick MD, Huntington WV, and Lexington KY.
Question will be: How much longer before EMF makes a deal for Aloha Frederick, MD? They could easily spin 99.9 as a complement to newly acquired 107.3. And, 930 AM could easily be donated to a local church or spun around to Salem.
