Cap City Communications has flipped AC “Star 103.7” WSTV-FM Frankfort KY to Classic Hits as it begins simulcasting “Passport Radio” 1490 WKYW/93.5 W228CL Frankfort which in turn evolves from Oldies to add the 80s music library that had been part of WSTV-FM.
In a farewell message on Star1037.com, the company stated they “could not get enough support from the local business community to keep three distinct stations with a full service staff providing local content and entertainment” so they merged the two formats. The company, which is co-owned with Pennsylvania’s Seven Mountains Media, also operates Country “Froggy 101.7/104.9” 101.7 WVKY Shelbyville/104.9 WFKY Frankfort in Kentucky’s state capital.
New WFRT-FM call letters are now in place for 103.7.
