Lynn Parrish’s Mountain Top Media is acquiring the nine stations and five translators of East Kentucky Broadcasting Corporation and East Kentucky Radio Network from the estate of Walter May for $2.85 million. The stations involved in the deal are: Country 93.1 WDHR Pikeville KY, Country 96.5 WXCC Williamson WV, Classic Rock “Rock 103.1” WPKE-FM Coal Run KY, CHR “Z107.5” WZLK Virgie KY, Sports “Fox Sports East Kentucky” 900 WLSI/95.9 W240CL Pikeville 960 WPRT/104.5 W283AP Prestonsburg and 1400 WBTH/102.5 W273BC Williamson WV, and Oldies “Hit City USA” 1240 WPKE/98.1 W251AI Pikeville KY and 1460 WEKB/104.3 W282BZ Elkhorn City KY. An immediate Time Brokerage Agreement has taken effect.
A pair of Panama City FL stations have found new operators this week.
Gulf Coast Community College sells 1480 WKGC Southport/Panama City to Ronald Hale’s Omni Broadcasting for $5,000. Gulf Coast Community College retains Public News/Talk 90.7 WKGC-FM Panama City. Omni also owns Silent 93.5 (CP to move to 93.7) WTKP Port St. Joe in the Panama City market.
Charles Gay is sells his 50% interest in Hour Group Broadcasting and its Conservative Talk 1430 WLTG/101.7 W269DR Panama City to Charles Winstanley for $20,000 and forgiveness of a loan. A.D. Whitehurst will retain the other 50% stake.
Franklin Radio Associates sells Country 950 WAKM Franklin TN to Linda Carden and Charles Jackson’s Heritage Broadcast Associates for $40,000. The buyers have been operating WAKM via a Time Brokerage Agreement since August 2017.
Hispanic Target Media sells 102.7 KQHM Zapata TX to Villanova Media Group for $30,000.

As part of an interference settlement, Educational Media Foundation will transfer 90.3 K212FA Temple City/Pasadena CA to Razorcake/Gorsky Press in exchange for the group turning in the license of 92.7 KFFL-LP Pasadena. EMF has been fighting the grant of a license to KFFL-LP since 2014 claiming it is interfering with the coverage of its 92.7 KYLA Fountain Valley. K212FA will rebroadcast White Fox Horse Rescue’s 90.3 KTCN Acton.
