WGHT To Return Under WTBQ Operators

1500 WGHT Pompton Lakes 1110 93.5 WTBQ WarwickAfter signing-off in December 2017 with the exception of brief broadcasts to keep its license alive following its donation to the Borough of Pompton Lakes, 1500 WGHT Pompton Lakes NJ will resume operations in April.

Frank Truatt, owner of 1110 WTBQ/93.5 W228CG Warwick NY, has agreed to an LMA with option to purchase WGHT and its CP for 98.3 W252ED Pompton Lakes. NorthJersey.com reports that Pompton Lakes approved the deal on Wednesday. WGHT will return mostly as a simulcast of WTBQ until reestablishing its own local programming that will follow the other station’s model of local talk, brokered shows, community affairs, high school sports, and filler music on nights and weekends.

    Back in late November 2018, WGHT came back on the radio simulcasting with WALL Radio in Hudson Valley in New York and then went dark on March 20th. To have 1500 AM back on next month will be great for all of us who have listened to WKER and WGHT through the years.
