The former “Class X” trimulcast relaunched on Easter Sunday as Christian Classic Hits “Touch FM“.
Positioned as “Today’s Christian Classics”, 88.9 WMWX Miamitown OH, 89.1 WKCX Crittenden KY, 89.1 WYNS Waynesville OH and two LPFMs enter a crowded Christian music marketplace that includes Educational Media Foundation’s “Air 1” 90.1 WORI, “K-Love” WNLT, and Pillar of Fire’s “Star 93.3” WAKW.
Original Report 4/21: Spryex Communications pulled the plug on non-commercial Classic Rock “ClassX” on 88.9 WMWX Miamitown OH, 89.1 WKCX Crittenden KY, and 89.1 WYNS Waynesville OH on Friday afternoon.
Owner Bill Spry tells RadioInsight that the move was made due to dwindling support for the Classic Rock format. A new format will debut shortly, one that Spry says is not currently available in the Cincinnati market that the stations serve. The “ClassX” format will continue streaming online.
Christians are more likely to donate money than classic rock fans – purely a financial decision.
