Bustos Media has acquired Smooth Jazz 102.9 KFNY Centralia/Tacoma WA from iHeartMedia’s Ocean States Trust for $3 million.
KFNY has been in the divestiture trust since iHeart’s acquisition of some of Entercom’s Seattle market spin-offs in November 2017. The station dropped its previous Alternative format for filler Smooth Jazz programming one month later.
KFNY becomes Bustos Media’s fourth property in the Greater Seattle area joining Regional Mexican “La Gran D” KDDS-FM Elma and “La Zeta” combo 1210 KMIA Auburn-Federal Way and 103.3 KZNW Oak Harbor. It is likely that KFNY gives that brand coverage on the southern and western side of the market.
The Ocean States Trust retains Christian AC 104.9 KTDD Eatonville/Tacoma and Spanish CHR “Rumba 1430” WKOX Everett/Boston MA.
