People Moves 6/14: Jackson Blue Moves From Mornings To Afternoons At WKLB
Beasley Country 102.5 WKLB Boston has filled the afternoon opening created by Kevin Kennedy’s resignation last month as Jackson Blue will move from mornings. Blue has been with WKLB since February 2017 and spent three years before that in afternoons at sister Rhythmic Hot AC “Hot 96.9” WBQT. Blue has also spent eight years hosting nights at iHeartMedia CHR “Kiss 108” WXKS-FM Boston as well as Music Director at “106.1 Kiss-FM” KHKS Dallas and APD/Morning host at “Z104.3” WZFT Baltimore in his career.
Ayla Brown, who joined WKLB in December, will remain in mornings alongside whomever is hired to fill the opening.
With the demise of WPLJ and the exit of Melony Torres from the company, Cumulus Media CHR “Hot 93.3” KLIF-FM Haltom City/Dallas has replaced her voicetracked midday show with Sharon ‘La Loca’ Montero. La Loca continues to serve in her primary role as midday host at Urban AC “Radio 103.9” WNBM Bronxville NY.
Entercom Sports 610 KILT Houston has announced the addition of Matthew Jarecki as night host.
Jarecki joins the station out of college at Northern Arizona University where he hosted at their “107.1 K-Jack” KKJX-LP Flagstaff and did play-by-play and sideline reports for NAU-TV and Great Circle Media Country 92.9 KAFF-FM.
Entercom, a leading media and entertainment company and the unrivaled leader in sports radio, announced Matthew Jarecki as night drive host for SportsRadio (KILT-AM), Houston’s Leader in Local Sports Coverage and the flagship station of the Houston Texans. Jarecki will be on air weeknights from 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. CT, effective immediately.
“Matt’s a natural when it comes to sports radio,” said Sarah Frazier, Senior Vice President and Market Manager, Entercom Houston. “He has an innate ability to create unique and passionate opinions around Houston sports. His relentless work ethic will shine through and has helped him earn this opportunity.”
“I’m so excited to be joining Entercom Houston,” said Jarecki. “There’s no better role to be in than on a station that is a heritage brand and the home of the Houston Texans. Houston sports in general provide ample opportunities for great sports talk radio. I can’t wait to help the team at SportsRadio 610 to get to where we want to be.”
Prior to joining Entercom, Jarecki was a morning show host on KLJX-LP in Flagstaff, AZ. He also served as a sideline reporter for KAFF-FM and play by play and sideline reporter for NAU-TV in Flagstaff.
Mica moves from nights at WRNS to afternoons to replace the exiting Chase Adams. Local club DJ TK joins the station to fill the night slot. At WXQR, ‘LA Rock’ who looks and sounds just like Mico slides from afternoons to middays while RyRy makes the reverse move.
