After surviving multiple format changes and sets of call letters, the Loren & Wally Show has reached its end at Beasley Classic Hits 105.7 WROR Framingham/Boston MA.
Owens joined then 105.7 WVBF for mornings in 1981 and a year later was paired with Wally Brine, a partnership that would last through format changes to Country as WCLB and WKLB and then Classic Hits as WROR until Brine’s retirement in December 2016. Prior to beginning his long run in Boston, Owens worked at KIMN Denver, WPEN Philadelphia, WGAR Cleveland, WEBR Buffalo, and WKGN Knoxville.
In the on-air announcement this morning, Owens does not call it a retirement but rather an inability to come to terms with Beasley on a new contract.
The show retained the Loren & Wally name beyond Brine’s exit with co-hosts Lauren Beckham Falcone and Hank Morse and Producer Brian ‘Lungboy’ Bell taking on larger roles. Morse exited the station earlier this week.
