KSBJ Educational Foundation, owners of Christian AC 89.3 KSBJ Humble/Houston and Christian CHR “NGen Radio” 91.7 KXNG Houston has purchased 99.9 KSHN Liberty TX from Bull Buchanan’s Trinity River Valley Broadcasting.
KSHN currently features a broad Full Service format with a mix of AC, Oldies, and Classic Country with lots of News and local elements. In its announcement of the sale, Buchanan states that the station will continue to operate online after KSBJ begins operating it via LMA on Tuesday, July 2 at 12:01 am. The station serves the eastern portions of the Houston market over to Beaumont.
KSBJ recently acquired 92.3 KETX-FM Livington TX serving the areas north of Houston.
The following message has been posted on the KSHN website announcing the sale:
After 42 years in operation, first as KPXE AM and since 1991 as KSHN FM 99.9, the radio station has been sold. Our last day as KSHN FM will be Monday, July 1st. At 12:01 a.m. on July 2nd, our signal will be taken over by the new owners, KSBJ.
The decision to sell was a difficult one of owner Bill Buchanan, 42 years of more than 54 years of his professional career was spent in Liberty, Texas.
To all our listeners, advertisers and friends, we have enjoyed our time as your hometown station, we hope we’ve done some good, and we will miss all of you.
We will keep streaming at kshn.com, so while we are going off your radio, we are not completely going away.
We will still be here, just different. We hope you’ll make the transition with us from terrestrial radio at 99.9 fm to internet at www.kshn.com or on most smart phones with the TuneIn app.
