Refuge Media Group is donating Christian AC “Refuge Radio” 89.5 WJRF Duluth, 89.9 KRGM Marshall, 102.9 KRFG Nashwauk/Hibbing and its network of 13 translators across Minnesota, Iowa and South Dakota to University of Northwestern-St. Paul. The recipient holds 18 stations and 23 translators running multiple Christian formats mostly in the Upper Midwest but stretching to Kansas City and Hartford CT.
JJIE Corporation continues to build out a cluster in Provo UT with the purchase of 99.9 KPVO Fountain Green from Valleydale Broadcasting for $25,000 and 1580 KWLO/99.9 K260DS Provo from Rams III for $300,000. Operating under the name Lucky Dog Broadcasting, the group began operating KWLO via LMA earlier this year as Oldies “Utah’s Goat“. The two stations join 96.7 KQMB Levan, 1400 KSRR Provo and 96.7 K244DH Fort Douglas UT which were purchased from Zeta Holdings for $100,000 in December 2018.
Country Gold Broadcasting sells Classic Country 1250 KNEU/93.5 K228FR Roosevelt UT to David Barton for $200,000 and the release of all claims, demands or causes of action against them.
Wennes Communications buys Oldies 1240 KDEC/94.9 K235CT and AAA “FM 100.5” KDEC-FM Decorah IA from Decorah Broadcasting for $1.2 million. The two stations will join Classic Hits 104.7 KVIK Decorah, Country 103.5 KNEI-FM Waukon, and AC 1160 KMRV/99.1 K256CS Waukon in a Wennes cluster serving northeastern Iowa.
Jay Newell’s Newell Media purchases Classic Country 960 KFLN/98.7 K254DO and Classic Rock 100.5 KJJM Baker MT from Russ Newell’s Newell Broadcasting for $650,000.
