iHeartMedia Sports “1300 The Zone” KVET Austin has begun simulcasting on 103.1 K276EL Austin this morning replacing Spanish CHR “Tu 103.1“.
KVET had previously simulcasted on the translator until 2012 when it began a series of musical formats. KVET carries Texas State University, Round Rock Express, Houston Texans, San Antonio Spurs and Westlake High School football play-play-play. The station features a local morning show hosted by Chip Brown and Mike Hardge and Fox Sports Radio network programming the remainder of the day.
The previous Spanish CHR format debuted in May 2017 and registered a 0.4 share in the July 2019 Nielsen Audio ratings. KVET held a 0.5, which trailed Genuine Austin Radio’s “104.9 The Horn” and its 1.6 share.
iHeartMedia Austin announced today AM 1300 The Zone, Austin’s Sports Talk, will now simulcast on 103.1 FM, effective immediately.
Now available on both AM and FM signals, AM 1300 / 103.1 FM The Zone will continue to be Austin’s Sports Leader with The Bottom Line, hosted by Chip Brown and Mike Hardge, anchoring weekday mornings 6a-9a, followed by a solid line up of continued sports talk.
AM 1300 / 103.1 The Zone will also continue to be the official Texas State sports affiliate in Austin, Texas, broadcasting all football and men’s basketball, as well as the official Round Rock Express flagship station. Additionally, the station carries the Houston Texans, the San Antonio Spurs and Westlake High School Football.
