After stunting for a couple days with a loop of REM’s “Its The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)”, Stephens Media Group has flipped Active Rock “106.9 The X” K295BT Wapato/KKHK-HD3 Yakima WA to Oldies “KRUZN 106.9 KTCR“.
Positioned as “Ageless Classics For the Yakima Valley”, the station is focusing on music from the 1950s through 70s to flank co-owned Classic Hits “100.9 Cherry-FM” KARY-FM. The new format is also airing on 980 KTCR Selah/Yakima, which drops “ESPN Deportes Radio” a couple of weeks before the network ceases operation.
Along with the format change at K295BT, Stephens has cut ties with Sean Knight. Knight served as Program Director of K295BT, Hot AC “Big 106.1” K291BV/KHHK-HD2 and Classic Rock “105.7 The Hawk” KRSE. He also hosted mornings at KRSE after joining the station in August 2018 from nights at Mid-West Family Broadcasting Rhythmic CHR “92.9 The Beat” KOSP Springfield MO.
