Longtime New England area programmer Jerry McKenna is heading south to lead Entercom Hot AC “Star 94.1” WSTR Smyrna/Atlanta.
Among the places McKenna has worked in the past are as Music Director of CHR 94.5 WZOU Boston, PD of “Hot 106” WWKX Providence, PD of Rhythmic AC “Star 93.7” WQSX and Vareity Hits “93.7 Mike-FM” WMKK Boston, PD of “Mix 98.5” WBMX Boston, Operations Manager and PD for Cumulus Media Worcester MA, and most recently as Director of Programming for Cape Cod Broadcasting. He has also spent time in the record industry at Columbia and RCA Records and as Hot 100 Chart Manager for Billboard.
Entercom, a leading media and entertainment company and one of the two largest radio broadcasters in the U.S., announced the addition of Jerry McKenna as Program Director for STAR 94.1 (WSTR-FM), Atlanta’s only adult top 40 station, effective September 30. In this role, McKenna will oversee the station’s on-air and digital content.

McKenna joins Entercom from Cape Cod Broadcasting where he was Director of Programming. Prior to that, he spent six years as Operations Manager and Regional Program Director for Cumulus Media in Worcester-Springfield, MA. He also held programming roles for sister station MIX 104.1 (WWBX-FM) and former Entercom stations in Boston from 2002 to 2008.
