With Sinclair Communications’ acquisition of Emmis’ 50.1% stake in their Austin cluster complete, News/Talk 590 KLBJ/99.7 K259AJ Austin has parted ways with afternoon co-host Jeff Ward.
Ward had been with KLBJ since 1997 and was co-hosting the 3-7pm slot with Ed Clements. With his departure, Clements will move to 2-6pm and split the slot with a trio of partners. Mark Caesar and Melynda Brant, who previously hosted the 10am and 2pm hours, will join Clements from 2-4pm while continuing to keep the 10am hour by themselves.
The 4-6pm show will become a Sports Talk oriented program with Clements being joined by sister Alternative “101X” 101.5 KROX morning host Jason Dick. Dick will continue in mornings on KROX.
