As Cumulus Media prepares to completely exit New York City following the sales of WABC, WNSH and WPLJ, its last remaining station in the market has cut its remaining local programming.
Outside of Reach Media’s Tom Joyner Morning Show and DL Hughley afternoon show, “Radio 103.9” WNBM Bronxville is now running Westwood One’s R&B “The Touch” network in all other dayparts. The move means the departure of midday host Sharon ‘La Loca’ Montero.
In a YouTube Vlog discussing her career, Montero mentions that while she is no longer a full-time employee of Cumulus, she will continue to voicetrack middays at CHR “Hot 93.3” KLIF-FM Haltom City/Dallas. The New Jersey native joined WNBM at its launch in July 2014 after spending much of her career in Florida with stops at WBTP and WLLD Tampa and WJHM and WPYO Orlando.
In her video, Montero alludes to a buyer being found for WNBM, however at this moment no sale has been announced.
