Alpha Media Country “98.7 The Bull” KUPL Portland MD/midday host Danny Dwyer has been promoted to Assistant Program Director.
Dwyer has been with KUPL since April 1998 in multiple on and off-air roles including Promotions Director and since 2016 as Music Director. He has also served as a traffic reporter for multiple television stations in the Portland market. Prior to joining KUPL, Dwyer worked at multiple Country stations in Southern California including KHAY Oxnard and KZLA Los Angeles.
Alpha Media Portland named Danny Dwyer 98.7 The Bull (KUPL/Country) Assistant Program Director and signed him to a multi-year contract effective immediately senior vice president and market manager Lisa Decker announced today. Per company policy, terms of the extension were not disclosed.
Dwyer will continue his daily midday hosting duties from 10 AM to 3 PM on 98.7 The Bull along with his Music Director duties. Dwyer is KUPL’s longest term employee after hitting his 21-year mark with the station earlier this year. During his tenure, he’s worked in every daypart and held many positions through the years from promotions director and traffic reporter to midday host and music director.
Decker commented, “The energy and dedication Danny brings on and off the air to our Bull Nation listeners, musicans, artists, labels, advertisers and community partners are an incredible asset to our station. His leadership with station events and promotions including our St. Jude Radiothon and Countryfest concert are irreplaceable.”

Devoted husband to Kimmy, loving father to Austin, Alexis and Tanner, Dwyer also is a dedicated volunteer advocating for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital along with many other local charities. Off-air, he enjoys softball, camping, wake surfing, bowling, dirt track racing, golf, mudding, fishing, motorcycling and many more outdoor activities in the Pacific Northwest. He resides in Vancouver, Wash. with his family.
