Seven Mountains Media will extend their operations in Elmira NY via a series of transactions with companies owned by George Hawras and Kevin Fitzgerald.
Seven Mountains will pay $1.25 million to Europa Communications for Classic Rock “95 The Met” 94.7 WMTT Tiga PA and its network of translators: 93.1 W226AP Hornell NY, 95.1 W236AK Corning NY, 95.7 W239BK Bath NY, 95.7 W239BQ Elmira NY, 97.9 W250BI Mansfield PA, 104.7 W284BX Alfred NY, and 107.9 W300BX Wellsboro PA. Four other translators will come from Europa. 93.5 W228DN Elmira currently rebroadcasts WMTT, but will switch to 96.1 WPHD-HD4 Elmira once its CP is built. 95.1 W236CP Hornell rebroadcasts 97.1 WZHD Canaseraga NY. 101.7 W269BK Horseheads which currently rebroadcasts WMTT, but will switch to 96.1 WPHD-HD3 Elmira once its CP is built. 103.3 W277DW Elmira NY is Rhythmic CHR “Hot 103.3” via 96.1 WPHD-HD2.
Fitzgerald and Hawras Partnership will receive $150,000 for Classic Hits “Cool 96.1” WPHD Elmira/107.9 W300DH Corning and Alternative “93.1 The Drive” W226BA/WPHD-HD3.
Equinox Broadcasting will receive $600,000 for Classic Hits “Cool 97” 97.1 WZHD Canaseraga/Hornell NY.
All of the deals include a Time Brokerage Agreement that takes effect on January 1 and a four year non-compete for the sellers. Seven Mountains Media already owns Country “100.9 The Wolf” WPGI Horseheads, Rock “Wingz 104.9” WNGZ Montour Falls, CHR “Wink 106.1” WNKI Corning, Conservative Talk 820 WWLZ/101.3 W267CJ Horseheads, and Classic Country 1490 WRCE Watkins Glen.
KTC Broadcasting will purchase Oldies 1320 WAGY/107.5 W298CZ Forest City NC from WAGY Inc. for $75,000. A Time Brokerage Agreement went into effect on November 1.
Translator Sales
The University of Florida will acquire 102.7 W274BT Williston/Gainesville FL from Edgewater Broadcasting for $46,001. UF has operated W274BT as Classical “WUFT Classic” fed via 89.1 WUFT-HD2 Gainesville since November 2015. The purchase price will come from a $10,000 option agreement and monthly LMA payments made since then.
