As its somehow claims this year as its 100th anniversary, Cumulus Country 101.1 KRMD-FM Oil City/Shreveport announced a new lineup taking effect this morning.
Mason Stanfield joins KRMD-FM as morning co-host alongside Melinda Coyer. Stanfield joins the station from Adams Radio Classic Rock 98.7 KSNM and Country 103.9 KGRT Las Cruces NM where he hosted mornings at KSNM and was MD/afternoon host at KGRT since April 2017. Stanfield has also worked in Salida CO and Austin MN in his career.
Stanfield replaces Mike Martindale in mornings as Martindale moves to the afternoon slot that had been vacant since OM/PD Chip Arledge departed last April.
INSTANT INSIGHT: We’re not quite sure how KRMD-FM claims 2020 as its 100th anniversary. The FM signal did not sign-on until 1948 and even if it claims 1340 KRMD as its own, that station did not launch until 1926. The first radio station in Shreveport did not even sign-on until 1922. We have asked Cumulus for further clarification.
